I've just bought a bag for all my cables and bits, previously having always forced them into my hardcase!

Looking at sticking a mini stand in there too. Been dragging my Hercules long one around for years now, but wouldn't mind one to put in the bag - less to think about!

Our guitarist always uses them - don't know if they're solid enough for bass?

Considering something like this -

Thoughts? :)

These are ultra compact & steady enough for round bottomed like P bass shapes not for offset like Jazz. OK in my music room but probably not on stage!

I find these work ok http://www.herculesstands.co.uk/product/85308/GS302B/Mini_Stands/TravLite_electric_guitar_stand and these http://www.musik-produktiv.co.uk/hercules-stands-gs402b-mini-staender.html

I wouldn't trust anything apart from my top-hanger Hercules. Having a thunderbird might also have something to do with it. I strap all of the long stuff (guitar stand, mic stand, etc.) together for easy carriage

These are OK but do be careful and make sure the vertical arm is actually locked up... I put a bass on mine once, and it sagged backwards into the wall with a nasty clunk.

I find these - http://www.herculesstands.co.uk/product/85317/GS402B%252FW/Floor_Stands/Mini_electric_guitar_stand - sturdier than these http://www.herculesstands.co.uk/product/85308/GS302B/Mini_Stands/TravLite_electric_guitar_stand

Had the latter but it was too prone to bend. Got the former, which is still small, and find it much better, though I have lost a nut from one that I still need to replace

I use Hercules mini stands and have had no issue with them. I not in a band with clumsy oafs, and I only leave it on the stand on stage when I'm there, or if we're first on and we've finished sound checking. I've had my RD Artist and my NR Thunderbird sat on one, you just need to adjust the position of the bottom bits to suit. I've had 3 basses sitting on them at bass bashes in close proximity to other basses without issue also. It's like anything device, fine if used sensibly. If you expect it to keep your bass upright when there are crazy band members flailing about the stage with scant regard for their surroundings or if there's a minor earthquake then you might be disappointed :)
