To be honest, I don't know how anyone could justify even remotely considering the German P-Nut over this one. Must be £5500 or so for the german version...

Hi, the standard string spacing on Warwick 5-strings is 16.5mm with some allowance for widening it further using the 3D 2-piece bridge.

Got to say this is a peach.

Usually a stickler for the German mades, but when you consider this has better components, (probably better build quality too) than many basses from USA or whatnot, its a belting deal.

I have to say, id seriously consider this after seeing the youtube clip too. Insane for this price, and if its still around after iv sold mine, i might need to check it.......

@jazzbass - I measured the current string width at the bridge and it is 18.5mm. It seems to be the maximum width you can set up for all the strings.

I forgot to mention that this bass is now upgraded with a new brass nut: http://www.thomann.de/nl/warwick_just_a_nut_iii_brass_5_str_45.htm

Included in sale price. (the original nut it not available)

This is one of the nicer non-German basses from Warwick (Made in Korea). For me, the highlights are the following:

* Seymour Duncan SJ5-3N + SMB-5d pickups (would cost around 170GBP (65 + 85) on their own) with preamp bypass

* The alder + maple top body is slightly thicker than the usual Streamers giving the tone more heft.

* The ebony fretboard is unusual on fretted Warwicks but goes very well with the alder and maple.

I own a couple of Streamer Stage basses but I really like this one for a more classic tone - kind of a super jazz, with the coil-tap humbucker in the bridge - the ebony giving it some real zing in the top end.
