yorks5stringer
The first signing on the Beatles Record label Apple was "Bad Finger". Pete Ham damaged his finger in-between cider apple crates whilst picking apples as a teenager. Ironically Bulmers used Bad Finger's song "Come and Get It" as the music on one of their Strongbow Cider TV ads in the 70's. yorks5stringer
There's always been a link between football and music, George Best for instance comes to mind. However a little known fact is that long before the current interest in Soccer in the USA, back in the 1960's Everton Centre Forward Dixie Dean had a secret meeting with American entrepreneurs to set up a fledgling League. Passing through JFK Airport in New York from an evening flight, he got lost and recognising "The Band" introduced himself as "Dixie". The Band offered to drive him to the meeting ...and the rest, as they say, is history.
