yorks5stringer
When D-Ream split up, plain but smiley Brian Cox was reduced to busking piano in Manchester bars. His luck changed when he adopted the moniker of his heroes Longhair and Green and now he is never out of the UK media. Phil Adams
Leather clad rocker Suzi Quatro served an apprenticeship at the Audi factory in her native Detroit. It's not know what part of the works she worked on. She later worked for Del Monte and perfected the process of sealing one tin inside another which became the inspiration for her 1973 hit, Devil Gate Drive(L). UglyDog
MC5 originally wrote "Kick Out The Jams" whilst on holiday in Margate. The song was an expression of their extreme disappointment at finding no marmalade amongst the breakfast preserves at their B&B accommodation. yorks5stringer
The Penguin Café Orchestra were so named as many of the members worked at the Whipsnade Zoo Cafe, next to the Penguin House. Other Bands with origins in Zoos include: The Animals, The Monkees, Gorillaz, Dixie Hummingbirds, The Beatles, Snake Davis, Whitesnake, and The Byrds. Other Bands you may think of with animal names did not however work in Zoos.

Tom Baker, Matt Smith, David Morrissey and Peter Capaldi are all household names and indeed bubble haired trouper Bonnie Langford who played on Terror of the Vervoids, often attends "Hoey" Conventions and is fond of singing "Total Eclipse of the Part"
ras52
Harry Chapin was the third member of The Richard Carpenter Trio, alongside young siblings Richard and Karen Carpenter. However, when the big time beckoned, the deal was for Richard and Karen only, and Harry was unceremoniously edged out of the band that went on to multi-platinum success as The Carpenters. Harry later poured his bitterness into one if his best-known songs, If I Were a Carpenter.
Beedster
Climate change scientists assert that some of the most compelling evidence yet provided for global warming is that of the apparently coincidental demise of rappers Ice-T and Vanilla Ice in the mid-1990s. This theory is currently extended by a team from Thames Valley University who aim to identify whether the same global conditions were responsible for the failure of Liverpool-based Alt-Indie groovers The Icicle Works at around the same time. A counter argument is however proposed by the anti-global warming lobby which cites the fact that Aussie rockers Icehouse continue to tour and record as categorical evidence of the need for an alternative theory. They argue that their data suggest that crapness - and not rising sea levels - were the legitimate causal mechanism of the rappers' disappearance. Seal, Fish, The Eels, and Noah and the Whale are said to be anxious for issues around rising sea levels to be resolved at the earliest opportunity, as understandably was Sandy Shaw, whilst a spokesman for A Flock of Seagulls indicated that the band are keeping a keen eye on events. Bono has launched a charity appeal whilst Prince wasn't available for comment but has instructed several legal teams to investigate whether nature or God has infringed his intellectual property rights in any way.
