Placebo were formed by Hut Records as a social experiment. Most fans said they felt better after listening to Placebo than before and also better than if they had listened to other bands.
Fans of Morphine reported similar effects too.

Acapellists The Flying Pickets were all jobbing Fencers who used to sing in time as they knocked in their fence posts. Their labour rates were very high as they used to travel to jobs by Helicopter due to once being delayed for a job by waiting in a traffic queue for 2 hours. Once they formed a Band this incident was recounted in their biggest hit "Caravan"

A planned Album called "Brothers in Arms" featuring siblings such as The Everly Brothers, The Bellamy Brothers, Bros and Hue and Cry was thwarted by Equal Opportunity legislation when a complaint was made by The Pointer Sisters who were turned away at the audition. Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield had already decided not to audition so felt vindicated.

James Blunt's chart storming song "You`re Beautiful" was played during the wake of turkey magnate Bernard Matthews. During which the mourners had to hold aloft a Turkey dinosaur and chant "You`re Bootiful" at the appropriate junctures.

Following the departure of David Byrne from Talking Heads, Alan Bennett has confirmed he will be taking them in a new direction. In a separate development Tina Weymouth will be collaborating with Jesse Winchester.
