The Crowded House song “Weather With You” was originally written by a little-known and short-lived supergroup consisting of Melvyn Gale of ELO, Snowy White, Gene Rains, Sun Ra, and the members of Thunderclap Newman.

It is fairly common knowledge that the band Jefferson Starship was formed by several members of the previous band Jefferson Airplane.
What is less well known is that this previous band had a large number of earlier incarnations, dating right back to the late 18th century string quartet Jefferson Spinning-Jenny.

...which reminds me of the occasion when their lead singer was arrested for driving with bald tyres, but the charge was dropped.
