Simon. Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014
To be honest all you need to know is if they are any good for metal!!!!
Well, you know, like, they are made from Nickel, which is kinda a metal, innit? Gotta be. Quote
leschirons Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Well personally, I think this has been a really worthwhile thread as I'm going to nick "Acoustic Science" as the new name for our acoustic duo Quote

HowieBass Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Yeah it's physical vapour deposition; very old technology. Used to coat something instead of dipping it in an electrolytic bath. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physical_vapor_deposition Quote
razze06 Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014
Just read up on La Bella's new Vapor Shield strings. Shiny." Not convinced by "Acoustic Science". Glow discharge electromagnetic plasma is the same stuff that makes the light inside neon tubes. Happens when you apply the right level of electrical tension at either ends of a gas-filled tube. It's a different way of applying a coating, which may or may not be better than any others. Quote
