6feet7
Well done. I've just been asked to join a 70's Funk band. As my roots are in blues/rock I initially turned it down, but having practiced some of the songs (disco inferno, play that funky music etc) it's a really fun challenge so think I'm going to go for it. Nothing ventured
seashell
Brilliant :-) Soon you will be playing something and you'll suddenly think 'I can't believe this is me actually doing this' It's a fantastic feeling to realise you can do something you couldn't do before. One of the many joys of bass playing. Keep it up and keep us posted. :-)
billfaro
Thanks for all your reply's. It does not seem so complicated this Bass playing now. I will just keep plodding on with the practice. Cheers Bill.
HengistPod
Good man, Bill. One day you'll be standing there listening to some great music, the groove pumping through your brain, and you'll suddenly come back down to earth and realise that it's you that's playing it ... without looking at or thinking about where your hands are going or anything ... inthedoghouse
Yep, keep at it - playing music is some of the best feeling you can have :-)
KevB
Get to a point where you (and perhaps your teacher if you are having lessons) are condifent in your playing then pop down to a local jam/open mic night and start to put out feelers to get to play with other musos. Initially just watching other 'normal folks' get up and do it can be an inspiration in itself.
