Cairobill
I had a jaco clone from him (as well as an andy summers tele that I still have) and I can vouch for his jazz basses being utterly gorgeous. The one I had, had great lo mid thump, a fast skinny neck and perfect, period correct body contours. A wonderful thing.
cayston
I think I recognise this bass. I remember seeing it on Bravewood website about 2 years ago, and as the OP mentioned it was originally built for John Elliott himself. John mentioned that it was initially sold due to personal reasons but then he bought it back few years after that. He kept it for awhile and sold it again. If I remember correctly, the bass originally came with real vintage parts (real '64 pickguard, control plate etc.) but John removed the parts prior to the sale. If it's the same bass then the OP beat me to it as I was really interested in the bass! Cracking bass though and I'm sure it won't be here for long GLWS. Mibuuu
you're right john made it for himself but sold it two years ago. I think this bass is a replica of a real fender jazz 63.
