It is that time of year, brushing up on the xmas songs, this one is purely for my enjoyment unless a drunken jam version happens, anyone got proper blobs for it? I did a search but could not find it here and the youtube bad cover versions are no help, as soon as they get the twiddle at the start wrong I stop the clip :D

No, I'm ashamed to say I haven't tried it yet. My band are doing Santa Baby and that Maria Carey thing for our Christmas repertoire. So I've been busy learning those.
Definitely want to try learning Christmas Wrapping at some point though.

We've had it in the Xmas set for the past couple of years, as a jam the line is one thing, in a band context its demanding, for us, the difficulty was getting the interplay of the bass and vocals to sound authentic. Live its a nightmare to monitor, I'd surprised if the dots will help. Pretty cool when it comes off though.

Yes please if you can deaver :)

I doubt it will go in our set, but its one of those lines I would like to nail as the record one day, I have got a fairly good approximation going on now, mainly the second half of the main riff that sounds messy, it is also causing me some blisters on my pinky due to these awful Roto strings!

Anyone else think that the notation sounds a bit 'off' in bars 18 and 19 and then when that phrase is repeated throughout the song? Sounds like a hammer-on then pull off from f# to g and back to f# again to my ears, the notation has that open g to 2nd fret a and then back to open g. I could be wrong though, I am half deaf...

I've moved all the notes to suit the five strings and I'm playing that part on the D now, I played it as a semi tone before but I think it probably is a full tone if I'm looking at the right bit.

I've got a fairly reasonable version together now :)

Sorry to holy thread revive, but does anyone still have the copy of the dots/scan of the bass guitar mag with it in?

The links earlier didn't work for me :(

Been meaning to transcribe this up for a while, so your post was a good boot up the bum!  Here's the verse groove which will hopefully get you started :)

I've probably still got the scanned version mentioned above if anyone wants it - but I doubt that Dropbox link works. Drop me a line if you're interested.

BGM are you seeing this btw
