I like it - because firstly you notice that it's got seven strings, then you notice the fretboard is like an aircraft carrier, then you notice it's got an automotive-style metallic paint job... and finally you notice it's a single cut. Nicely done!! Not sure about that old hippy though... [sexism] should have got a nubile young bird in a bikini to model it... [/sexism] Edited November 12, 2014 by discreet Quote
icastle Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 I should probably point out here that Dood's bass hasn't actually got a tapered neck - it's actually 20' long. Quote

Roland Rock Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Dood, it kind of looks like there are rivits on the top edge - I assume those are reflections? Quote

SubsonicSimpleton Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Whenever I see a singlecut my initial reaction is "quick, kill it with fire before it lays eggs" Quote
Maude Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 I've never liked the look of single cuts until I realised my favourite looking bass I own is one, Yamaha Bex 4, funny old world. Quote
bubinga5 Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 (edited) never liked the look of them, and i really think they add nothing tonally. maybe structurally they add a feel to the neck you can't get with a DC.. i just think its bass construction over design.. i think the design of a bass is coming its limits, and has been for a while. i think the builders only have so much to go on to improve. i think perfection comes from construction, not new ideas. the music has the new ideas, not the instrument. Shedua511 Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 (edited) I do play one and enjoy both playability, sounds and looks. Will only post a link, not to offend those who hate the esthetics Biarnel Akmé Why play one? Why not? bootleg Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 I didn't mean the original posting as flame bait. I am genuinely interested and have grown to like the look from postings on BC, so I suppose I need to get to try one out for myself. Quote
