Rick05
Hi Everyone, I have recently been getting into effects so that I can add more to my band. Some the intros I have been playing are mid to high range lines and I want some spacey sounds to add to recordings and for live shows. I currently have a big muff and compressor so want to add to this currently and was thinking of adding a flanger or a phaser and delay/reverb pedals to add to this to get some spacey sounds. Is this how I should go about it, or does anyone recommend any further options. Also if you have any recommendations for flanger, phaser or delay/reverb pedals? I came across this Soundbox Dimension reverb pedal and wondered if anyone had any experiences with one? http://www.rock-gear.de/en/Guitar/Effects/Delays-Echos-Reverb/Source-Audio-Soundblox-2-Dimension-Reverb.html?&cur=1 Thanks, Rick
SimonEdward
Hello Rick - It depends how much you have to spend my friend.. I can personally recommend TC electronic (I'm not an endorsee - just been using their pedals for a while, and all good). The 'Hall of Fame' (Reverb) and 'Alter Ego' (Delay) do it for me. The BOSS DD-6 get's quite a bit of love on here.. have fun!
The Badderer
if you're looking at the Soundbox 2 options. the dimension reverb is excellent on bass with really great controls, the orbital modulator is also great on bass and will give you some excellent spacey sounds especially is you use it with the reverb, but also look at the OFD bass modulator from them as well. Rick05
Hi Guys, Thanks so much for the advice, I love the range of the soundblox and I think thats the best as I am not sure how much I will use single effects. Hopefully the big muff coupled with the dimension reverb will do the ticket. The orbital modulator looks cool too so may look at combining these 3 pedals. The TC electronic ones look great too so may have to try them out before commiting to the soundblox. Thanks for opening up more options. Rick05
Hi Guys, I had a go on the Hall of fame pedal and was really impressed with it, especially when combined with a fuzz pedal. But I still havent found a soundblox to have a go on and dont want to make the call without trying one.
