paul_5
I'm trying to fix an old Yamaha Clavinova. The speaker protection relay has given up the ghost and I'm struggling to find a replacement. It's an OMRON G5Z-2A rated at 12VDC and apparently they've been discontinued. Any suggestions as to where I might find anything similar? HowieBass
Also available from Farnell http://uk.farnell.com/omron-electronic-components/g5v-2-12dc/relay-pcb-dpdt-12vdc-2a/dp/9949496
Michael J
I saw that too, it's a G5V, but might be a suitable alternative.
flyfisher
Yep, always worth searching for old electronic components on the web. There are loads of specialist companies out there for this sort of thing. But even if you can't find the identical part, it should be easy to find a suitable alternative. Even if it doesn't fit on the PCB, a relay should be easy to mount somewhere else and then wired up accordingly. Good luck with the repair - it's nice to hear about such things being fixed rather than thrown into landfill.

6v6
I've used bitsbox for stuff like this, so they may have an equivalent you could use: http://www.bitsbox.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=253&products_id=1912
MoonBassAlpha
Are you sure it's not just come a bit unsoldered from the pcb? I fixed a mate's stereo that had exactly this problem and all it was was a fractured solder join round one pin, pretty much invisible to the eye, but no contact. Quick dab with the iron, job done.
