Alex_SG Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Hey all I'm Alex, from Perth, WA, Australia. I am normally a guitarist, but have had a hankering to learn bass for a while. Today I scored (cheap) a 1988 Aria Pro II (some idiot had loaded it up with some really bad stickers, but something told me to buy it!) and I love it! It is everything I like about playing fretted instruments. Hope to get to know some new people, and share info and friendship. Cheers. Alex P.S.: Here's a pic of my 10 year old son, Liam, playing with my bass! Enjoy! Quote
discreet Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 (edited) Hey Alex, welcome to the forum. That Aria was a good score... Liam is looking cool! Here's young master discreet (Henry, 12) having just received his first P Bass! Have fun. Mark Edited November 13, 2014 by discreet Quote
Marc S Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Hi Alex, Welcome to the world of bass (we're much friendlier than guitarists, aren't we? lol) And welcome to basschat too Those old Aria's are pretty damn good basses IMO I used to fancy owning one years back, and still like the look of them If you picked it up cheap, then all the better Marc PS. You are also welcome to beat my country at Rugby.... .... what? Oh you already did! Quote
Allie Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Hello Alex. Nice to see you joining in with the friendliest Bass-playin' crowd anywhere.. Welcome and enjoy your stay. Al. Quote
Mickeyboro Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Alex Welcome to the best bass-playing website ever! I will be passing thru Perth round about this time next year on a 'geriatric gap year' - maybe we can hook up for a tinnie! Quote
Rumple Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Welcome to BC! I've spent a bit of time in Perth over the years and still have friends who live there, I must get back there sometime for a visit but being freelance these days makes those long holidays a thing of the past. Quote
inthedoghouse Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Welcome aboard - this is a place you'll probably spend a lot (too much) time :-) Quote
