I would like to buy an amp that has been built with care & pride & not by a company who main concirn is profit because it shows . In my opinion .

Alternatively, the latter could be building it to a price point that's within reach of more people.

All the while, the Aguilar op remains in the U.S factory, then they qualify, IMO.
But... watch this space..???
That is an opinion in that any global and popular maker may sell up and retire to the beach
and the accountants will move to a low cost option whilst trading on the good name.

According to me gallien krueger makes very reliable amps, which for their price can compete with more expensive amps in terms of quality and sound. Otherwise aguilars are worth the price you pay for them.

I really don't pay attention to a lower based amp, in a brand, if it won't work as I need it to. It just worked out for me that the Super Bassman head has sound I wanted through the SVT-410HLF.

+1 for Matamp - absolute quality through and through.

Try Weber amps as well. I've their MYWATT200 and it's brilliant gets loads of compliments - even from guitards!

Companies tend to offer products at a variety of price points. Probably hope if you start with a budget item and like it, you'll upgrade to one of their belter offerings. Some make their own premium products and sub contract budget items (EBS). Instruments the same - G&L for example.
