0175westwood29
so i need a new home/ mini rig as i cant exactly take my 810 and 1000w orange around with me! have been looking on line and as ive fallen right back in love with ashdown stuff, my 810 is a mag, i saw a deal online where i could grab a CTM 15 and a cl212 to go underneath it! for a decent price so hopefully its turning up in the next few days! :-) from the videos on youtube really looking forward to putting my pedals thru this! however i can also see this giving me gas for a ctm 100! pics and most probably a video coming as soon as its all here! andy Edited November 18, 2014 by 0175westwood29
Merton
The CTM100 is immense. Buy one ;-)
0175westwood29
well the ctm arrived about an hour ago! such a nice looking piece of kit! gonna give it a more in depth play thru tomoz but thru the 212 cl cab its got a bit of volume behind it! actually seriously looking at grabbing the 100w version for my big rig forgot how nice valves sound! and yes for joke reasons at next practice i will be running this into my 810! http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg72/0175westwood29/IMG_0231.jpg andy
Pow_22
I played one at PMT not long ago, lovely tone but im just a bit put off by the ''All Valve'' marketing when the amp is actually a hybrid? With my 76 P bass with flats it had a really nice punch to it

spaners
I sold my CTM15 last week. A fantastic little amp. I put JJ EL84s in and a GT5171 in the pree. Teamed up with a VS115 and a VS112. Made a cracking home rig and inspired me to build my own amp. To be honest though I did find it quiet noisie once you started to wind the gain up and it didn't take pedals as well as my modded fender excelsior. They do get plenty loud though, dont let that 15w thing make you think any diferent and the tone is to dye for.
From what i read the 12AX7 is a phase inverter as opposed to a pre-amp
spaners
I couldn't find a schematic for the amp and decided no to pull it apart to do my own. it is possible to use just one valve for the pree and the phase inverter though. the other possibility is that it is single ended output with the two EL84 valves in parallel as they say the output stage is one half of an LB30 output stage. The LB30 being two pair of parallel EL84valves connected in push pull.
0175westwood29
from playing amps with valve pre's for along time this little thing really does blow them away, sounds aleast to me very full and breaks up lovely, yes some noise comes when you crank the gain but this happens on alot of amps. played thru my full pedalboard today, which includes alot of fuzz, dirt and also a overdive/boost handles them all very well, yes ive had to change settings on a few but thats to be expected with a new amp. as you can see from my sig im selling a few bits to grab the 100w
