Guest
So, he's managed to put out a song without waiting 10 years. What do you reckon? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFX1y62l9C4 Sounds like his recording sessions were gatecrashed by Soft Machine. Perhaps he should have waited. ezbass
Just as 'bad' as his last offering unfortunately; not for me. I was watching his 2007(?) Reality tour gig on Sky Arts yesterday, really good - what happened?

Highfox
I kind of liked the music but the vocal ruined it lol.

HowieBass
Bowie does film noir thriller theme tune with sixth form level lyrics shocker...
juliusmonk
Touch of evil stuff. Like it, though it seems the album version is 7 min long... Don't know if that's taking it too far. Visconti is generally good.
SteveK
A track really can't be judged on one listen. As we all know, it's often the "growers" that stay with us. So while I'm not sure if I'm going to like it... I have to take my hat off to him for not playing it safe - Respect!

I'm sure that there are plenty who will love it though.
Bowie does film noir thriller theme tune with sixth form level lyrics shocker... KevB
As I said in the other thread when his last effort came up on youtube it isn't a million miles away from latter day Scott Walker. Edited November 16, 2014 by KevB
the boy
Really great. I think I'll play that next time I'm at an open mic. I bet it would work great on acoustic. And to boot..... The barmaids name is Sue and she loves a good throttling. It must be liberating to be at a stage in your career where you can churn out music like that because you want to. No pressure from the record company. I liked it, it was edgy. I don't think I wanna hear it again though.

Tuco
Nowhere near as good as the song he performed in Extras.

Mr Arkadin
Also prefer this to anything on The Next Day album. Really enjoying the B-side 'Tis a Pity She Was a Whore, described as what the Vorticists might have sounded like if they made music. Pretentious-sounding description until you hear it and actually it's pretty accurate (if you know the British Vorticists work that is).
