Gorgeous, I used to have an Ibanez with Paduk facings, that's much more attractive

Great stuff Trevor. The webs best Wal information resource continues to grow :)

Ever thought about reviving the old serial number database and bringing it more up to date? A lot of work there I guess!

Needed to test out my new phone camera... It was either a photo of Mrs C, the Cat or the Wals...

I went with the Wals :)

Rob,

There's a whole load of bass envy/Wal love happening right now on the Facebook Wal Basses club page now that the new owner of your old fretless 4-string has posted his new aquisition...

I'm so glad he's happy with it, it's very stressful shipping a bass of that value and waiting for the "all good" from the buyer.

The facings on that bass are so beautiful, I'm very tempted to go for similar on my incoming fretless mk3 sixer. I've gone for the same edge lines, seems like a good compromise to me, the board looks clean from the front and lined from the playing position :)

I already regret moving it on, but I'm streamlining my gear at the moment so it's for the greater good :)

yeah Mike would be easier just doing that, but I also want to trim the herd a bit - keeping it down to 3 Wals in all, and the white one is also very light and thus a perfect live instrument for me.
Further, the white one has to get serviced by Paul since there was a freak tiredness within one of the plastic housings of the pickups.

So it's done: waiting for it to be shipped first week of May :)

That's awesome!
Did he say what was wrong with the pickup?

Mike - Paul said he hasn't come across anything like that before. He reckons it to be a freak tiredness of the plastic housing. It was the part of the PU with the spring under the screw where you can alter the height of the overall PU (see pic). The plastic just surrendered to the increased pressure of the spring and screw and just broke in two. I guess Paul justed replaced the housing.
