JohnR Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017
Triggers broom lol
You are not the first person to point that out to me. As well as the new body I am also having the machine heads changed for lightweight M4S models, straplocks fitted and new single piece string tree. All in black. Paul is also doing some fretwork and servicing the electronics. Original parts reused will be the neck, pickups and preamp. Oh and the neck backplate. All the mojo and magic are in those pickups. I got an email from Paul last night telling me he was assembling the bass yesterday and it will be finished by the end of this week. He will keep it for a further week to allow it to settle for the final setup. His attention to detail and communication have been outstanding and I can't wait to have the bass back in my hands again. JohnR Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 The courier has just left leaving this behind. 29 years old this month and one new body later here is my Ian Waller built black poly with a new Paul Herman birdseye maple body. The black neck and hardware look superb with the body. JohnR Posted June 10, 2017 Posted June 10, 2017 First string change since Paul built the new body and I couldn't resist having a look in the control cavity. I still have the old cavity cover. NickA Posted June 10, 2017 Posted June 10, 2017 What you going to do with the old body? Looks pretty good to me .. and will be made from that unobtainium brazillian mahogany too! I reckon you could save up for a new neck and pickups to go with it! Quote
It's Maple with a bit of quilting, a bit of burl and a touch of spalting... Quite a unique piece. Glad I went for it, youre never quite sure when the time comes to choose facings... spoilt for choice I wanted something lighter coloured to complliment my fretted ziricote six. Quote
