morsefull Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Anyone know of a UK forum like Basschat but for Keys ?? I need some advise regarding selling an old analogue synth. I've done a search but not much has come up. Cheers . Quote
BigRedX Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Try the Keyboards and Synthesis section of the SOS forums. Quote
morsefull Posted November 19, 2014 Author Posted November 19, 2014 Thanks, I'll get straight onto it Quote
Kiwi Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 We have plans for Synthchat after Guitar and Drumchat are set up. It'll be a way off yet though. Quote
DaveFry Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Oooh yes . I used to have one . Select the brass pre-set and play ; ( ^ means higher pitch , ie go upwards , if not go down ) g ^c ^g c ^g f ^a f c g f ^a ^c c (same note ) ^e ^g f ^a ^c e g c ... and that was that sound on the record Quote
BassTractor Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 You could also try Gearslutz: https://www.gearslutz.com/board/electronic-music-instruments-electronic-music-production/ , but be aware there are very many very knowledgeable people there who, overtly simply put, are very unfriendly. That said, there's always someone there who'll know the answer and who'll treat you with friendliness. Quote
TimR Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 There are some English guys at the musicplayer.com keys section. Quote
paul_5 Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 synthchat? Can't they just use this one with their left hand? Quote

My own shortcomings, no doubt, just to be clear. Quote
DaveFry Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Fanfare For The Common Man ELP And I realised after I posted that I should have indicated that the last f ^a ^c should start a ninth below the previous g . Famous Solina intro ; Quote
Zenitram Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Oh I see! I was playing each line as a chord. Sounded awful. Quote

Kiwi Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Slightly OT but...one of my favourite tracks - either as ELP or the original. Chunking along to the bass line on my Alembic graphite is very satisfying, with the neck pickup through the Trace V8+EBS cab and the bridge pickup through the Burman Pro501. (Fun fact - Greg Lakes bass in the video is serial #791300 and mine is #791309). The original (non prog) version is exquisite but good versions are hard to find. There have been a few recordings from the 70's I've heard that seem to play over-majestically and it ends up sounding sleepy. Quote
