sbrag
Had any one got any experience of using one of these? I'm looking for a cheap pa for rehersals and pub sized gigs and one of these is for sale at a good price near me. It had my min requirements of 4 xlr inputs but I'm not sure if 200 watts is powerful enough. We're a reasonably loud 4 piece and only looking for something to carry the vocals and an occasional acoustic guitar. Would this do the job or should I look for something with more power? Cheers
brensabre79
Depends HOW loud the band is, and how efficient the speakers plugged into the amp are, where the mics are positioned will have a bearing too. 200W should be plenty for a practice room in my view. There's no point getting a 2,000W amp if all the mics feedback and you have to turn it down.
flyfisher
Our band has the similar EMX212S, which is supposed to be 220W max. We use it as a vocal-only PA and a DI'd acoustic guitar and it's fine for small gigs - but we're not a particularly loud band. For larger gigs or when we play outdoors we slave it to a couple of Mackie SRM450s and use the Yamaha speakers as monitors.
