Foam

I'm about to get a case for some effect pedals , I want to get some foam to seat them in, can anyone recommend where to get some from & the best way of cutting it neatly to the shape of the pedals ?

Pros use a heated wire I think, but a sharp knife will do it. Loads of places selling foam, try eBay? You want dense stuff mind.

Use an electric carving knife. Much easier than hot wire and less messy. If you can't find foam on eBay try an upholsterer.

I bought a case from Maplins, the foam is in 1cm column pieces, stuck together, that you just pull out to make the shape you want. Once I pulled out what i needed the case was empty & I use it for spare leads, strings & spares. I've also bought it at a place that cuts foam to size for cushions and mattresses etc. They did it with an electric carving knife while I waited.
