stuckinthepod
He is superb isn't he, got in to his stuff in recent months. Check out Shovell and Rope if you like new Americana. I'm hankering for a resonator myself at the mo.
SubsonicSimpleton
I discovered Shakey and the song 'Late July' from this youtube playlist, which contains a whole load of american roots/folk type music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ar3nlmGkIhw&index=1&list=RDar3nlmGkIhw Lots of bands and musicians that merit further listening on that playlist
Wonky2
Cheers I'll take a listen, I've been using spotify to try new stuff with great results If your fancying a resonator I can highly recommend some of the new models from gretch (gretsch?) (wtf?) Any way... I wanted one for ages but didn't fancy paying out 1700 quid for a national.... The cheap alternatives were ozark at 400 ish but they were a bag of poo. I then happened upon the gretch bobtail which I picked up used for 250 quid with a pick up. It plays and sounds fantastic and has a pick up in it too !Really, a great guitar. See here..... Great eom vid of it.... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7FZWtYvFah4 The bobtail: http://www.gak.co.uk/en/gretsch-g9220-resonator-guitar-bobtail-round-neck-electro-2sb/56307 Or the cheaper aligator: http://www.gak.co.uk/en/gretsch-g2940-alligator-round-neck-resonator/77946 Edited November 25, 2014 by Wonky2
