Marvin Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 I quite like the look of the RPB-65. I could do with a P style bass and I don't want to spend a lot and these seem to fit the bill. Oh the GAS!!! Quote

howdenspur Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Has anybody tried the Revelation RJT 60 B - the Bass VI alike. Looks nice, decent price too, well below the latest Squier price! http://thebassgallery.com/bass/rjt-60-b-bass.html Quote

http://thebassgaller...-60-b-bass.html
I had a quick look, and The Bass Gallery says that the Revelation RJT 60 B has a 33" scale length. That's quite different from the 30" scale length of the Squier Bass VI. Edited May 7, 2015 by Annoying Twit Quote
howdenspur Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Thanks AT, hadn't twigged the scale length. I'd seen the one on Ebay which talks about being based on the Pawn Shop Bass VI... Annoying Twit Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 (edited) If anyone saw my confusion about the scale length before I edited it out, please ignore it. It does say 33" on the BG site. I've queried this with BG however. If it is 33", then IMHO that's an interesting move on Revelation's part. As it gives the bass a unique selling point (over and above the lower price) which might win over a proportion of potential bass VI purchasers. Edited May 7, 2015 by Annoying Twit Quote
Annoying Twit Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 I saw a Relevation Bass VI today. I don't believe it is a 33" scale, that is probably a typo on their site. It looks small in real life, and I would guess the same size as the Fender Bass VI. Quote
Russ Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 They've just announced this lovely beastie - the RBN. Reminds me of an Atelier Z, with the clear scratchplate. Very nice. Quote
Macbass68 Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I recently bought a Revelation RBJ-67-DeLuxe, and i think they are amazing value for money. The build quality is great, the sound is great, and i absolutely love it! These guitars will be sought after soon-they are awesome. I'm already saving up for another one, and would highly recommend them! (And no- I don't work for them, or have any affiliation with them - they just make great guitars!!!). Mac Quote

LewisK1975 Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Certainly does seem to be better stuff around these days at the lower price end of the market - not like the Marlins that were around when I started.. Quote
synthaside Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 We're almost spoilt for choice ... Harley Benton ...SIRE , even squire pulling up there socks and now these guys (if you believe the blurb they are a revival from Hohner and powered by Entwistle Pickups) Makes me lust for a nice cheap P ... shame i cant find a stockist near me Quote
Annoying Twit Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 (edited) I dropped into my local shop that stocks Revelation guitars and basses. As well as having some of their Bass VI instruments in stock, they also had a fretless PJ. It looks pretty good, but I didn't get to try it. cybertect Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015
That shop had a Revelation LP bass in today. I had a go on it, and I liked it a lot. Not perfect but a nice action and it was comfortable to play. One of these: IMHO it looked nice up close.
I just had a play with one of those at Hands Music in Kingston-upon-Thames. It's a nice little bass for the money and certainly something different to another Jazz or Precision clone. As you say, comfortable to play. I wasn't convinced that I'd be able to use all of the tone options it offers, but the ones that worked, worked well. The example I tried seemed to have an intermittent earthing problem, though, which was a shame. Not that I really need yet another bass… Quote

Geek99 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 I saw a sunburst : maple pearl block The RBJ-67 Bass and it looked really good. Action very low indeed - entwistle pups ? Quote
BigRedX Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 BTW are these set or bolt-on necks. All the photos are composed in such a way as to cunningly avoid showing the neck joint. Quote
Bassassin Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 The LP Recording copy is set neck (according to this Ebay listing) so the EB probably is too, although I can't find any pics to confirm.
