Kev
i was just wondering if it was at all possible to modify a trace elliot gp7sm preamp so that it has a footswitch to control whether the preshap is on or off, and if so who would i go to to get it done? TheRinser
Does it have a footswitch thing on the back? I'm assuming no from the wording, but just in case...

escholl
it's probably as simple as wiring a jack socket in parallel with the current switch, and connecting an external foot switch to that. no idea who to take it to. i'd have a look at it for you but it's not exactly nearby
danlea
I don't think that'd be a simple mod as if I remember correctly the front switch is latching on the GP7, and even if it weren't, the physical logistics of getting a jack socket added and connected are pretty nasty. This is one of those things that reminds you that the GP12 series didn't just add five bands of EQ. Edited August 9, 2008 by danlea
