franzbassist
Hi folks Recommend me a decent lightweight 1u power amp for bass. Power doesn't need to be huge - at the moment 500 watts bridged into 8 ohms would be fine - just reliable and not silly expensive. Thanks Gareth
Kiwi
A Peavey DPC 750 might fit your needs.

dincz
I've had a Behringer EPQ900 for a couple of years. It's solid, well made and so far totally reliable. Just don't take too much notice of the "900" part of the name. It's actually 580 watts bridged into 8 ohms.
jensenmann
I´m using a KMT DC5 with 2x500W. It´s not lightweight since it runs from a linear PSU but it has punch and lowend for ages, not like a switchmode-PSU amp which craps out after a few seconds of loud LF massage. Owen
Chevin A500 or A700 on Ebay. Usually less than £240. Proper power amp. Not that anything else that has been suggested is not proper! Edited November 28, 2014 by owen
Ghost_Bass
I´m using a KMT DC5 with 2x500W.
+1 I'm also using a KMT DC5, great amp with loads of low end, it goes up to 1000W bridged at 4Ohms. I use it on a 2U rack with the preamp and the whole thing is weighting something like 13kg +/-. I have margin to upgrade to a 4U rack and add a Furman conditoner and a DBX 160A comp and still keep the rack weight below the 20kg... humm

Happy Jack
Hmmmm ... that was a surprise, I thought they were much heavier than that. Ahem withdrawn.
Owen
1U. Just fits in an SKB shallow rack. Nothing not to love other than they do not bridge to 4ohms. 700w into 8.

Owen
I used to have an A3000. It was sublime. It could never be classed as 1U and light though Sorry, we are way off topic by now.
