LukeFRC
I tried one in a shop. I liked. I probably would have changed the pups and pre to make it amazing but good feel
Assuming it's just the 5 string version of the GB74, it's pretty good! My GB74 is the natural finish one, extremely light, yet balanced. The pickups are ok, a bit polite but not bad. The preamp is useable, but nothing to call home about. That's the negative points: for me the electronics are not as good as they could, but they work alright and I gigged mine a few times stock, no problem. Mine cost me £150, used, bargain. Dad3353
We have one of these, and I highly recommend them. Excellent value for money. As an anecdote, ours was played by 'Skeet' Curtis (see here ...); he didn't complain. fluffo
I've had a few of the gb75's, the eq controls are a different lay out on the older ones (better) also the natural ones sound far better, I put an east retro in mine, it was seriously good. Out of the same factory as the Lakeland skylines, hipshot tuners ect great value, the 5 string is a beast. I also have a Nordstrand NJ4SE (neck) and a Seymour Duncan SMB4A in my collection of spare parts, which would turn this beauty into a beast
