Anyway, Faith No More's covers of Easy and War Pigs, love the originals but prefer the FNM versions Also Nirvana's cover of Love Buzz, love what they did with that tune! KevB
Maybe not better but I'm rather liking this at the moment, wait till they go all Stevie Wonder in the middle, cracked me up; http://www.youtube....h?v=dDs41rgyCbw Edited November 28, 2014 by KevB

NickD
On a more serious note, The Clash's version of I Fought the law (and the Dead Kennedys' version for that matter), The Beat's version of Tears of a Clown (not better, but different in a great way), and The Damned's version of Eloise. Also, I loved the Scissor Sisters version of Comfortably Numb. I love the original, but I love when a band takes a cover and takes chances with it, beyond a somple copy, or a bit of an update. http://youtu.be/c6_HV5upI3o
BetaFunk
Really? The Beatles version is OK, but I can't stand Joe Cockers version all the histrionics just seem so fake to me.
Totally agree. I have loathed the absolute Cocker-up of that song since the day it was released. Awful.
BetaFunk
We've been down this road before on here and what it has revealed on more than a few occasions is that the song that people assume or take to be the original version actually isn't. BetaFunk
+1 That's the one. About the only Beatles cover that's better than the original.
Oh i dont know. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da must run it close even though it must have been one of The Fabs finest moments.
But Joe Cockers version was the theme tune to The Wonder Years, so it has to be better Obviously it is all subjective. A lot of covers, some people wouldn`t even know was a cover. I prefer Janis Joplin singing Ball and Chain, but some people would say Big Mama Thorntons is better.
