Has a mini jack line input with its own volume control so you can play along to recorded music. Also works well as a hi fi headphone amp. No tone control or EQ..you sound like you sound. Made in small numbers (this is no.60) by Walter Harley in Seattle, looks like he's stopped making these after ten years of small scale production. Look up Cafe Walter Audio for full info. I've used this a lot for learning parts and general practise when the kids were small and I didn't want to make any noise. They make lots of noise now they're older so I don't need it. This runs on two 9v batteries for approx 18 hours but real battery life depends on how you use it (see Cafe Walter site for details). I've used part used batteries a lot as well as re-chargeables so its not cost much to run. You get less playing time form re-chargeables but it works fine..just not as long.
