Hartke LH500 amplifier in rackbag - SOLD
£200

I've been doing a bit of online research and have decided that I want to change my amp!

Nothing wrong with the Hartke, but my current set-up involves me playing Jazz basses most of the time and my favourite setting is with both pickups on full. As a result, my tone can be a bit mid-shy and I need an amp that has a bit more control over the midrange.

This amp has served me well for over four years, and I originally bought it used from this very forum.

It comes in a quality rackbag (LD systems) and is therefore very easy to transport. Although it is not a "lightweight" head, it is very manageable and a comfortable one-handed carry even over significant distances.

It is a very loud amp, with lots of clean headroom - and has never been pushed at all.

For anyone unfamiliar with the beast in question - http://www.thomann.d...artke_lh500.htm They seem very well thought of on here too - http://basschat.co.u...00lh1000-heads/

I'm happy to package the amp up for shipping, which the buyer will have to pay for of course!.

The only trades I would entertain would be other amps - and I am probably leaning towards an Aguilar TH350 or a GK MB500 (with cash adjustments as appropriate).

Any questions just ask!

Dust filter

Indeed. And it must be pretty efficient as this is one of the most dust-free amps I have ever owned... ;)

Just picked up the amp from the rehearsal room this afternoon, so will get some pics taken soon.

In the meantime, the rackbag in which it resides is one of these- http://basschat.co.uk/topic/231956-sold-ld-systems-2u-rack-bag-mint-condition-l29/

Pics as promised....

After looking at the pics I spotted one small scrape on the front left handle on the amp itself. I could have coloured it in with a black pen or some paint, but I'd rather any potential buyer could see it. I'm just honest like that... :)

And have a Hartke New Year!

These are great amps. I've had mine for 4 years now & have never had the inclination to change it. The quality sound, bullet proof build & the simplicity of the controls just do it for me!

I run mine into a single 8ohm cab & have never had the volume control above 6.

GLWTS.

Hi there, I quite like the look of your LH500, just wondered if there's any way to run it straight into a single 4ohm cab? Thanks.

Indeed there is! I know what you mean though, as the speaker output sockets on the back imply that you can only connect 8 ohm cabs... not sure why it says that?

I have run it through the following Barefaced cabs to excellent effect: Vintage (4 ohms), Compact (8 ohms) and (currently) Big One (6 ohms). It has also driven two Ashdown 410s (8 ohms each, but daisy-chained together to present the amp with a 4 ohm load), and an 8 ohm TKS H115 (by itself and in combination with the BF Compact).

None of these cabs or combinations has given anything but oodles of power, clarity and volume! B)

Thanks :)

They are indeed great amps, and offer fantastic bang-for-buck (as I believe the saying goes...)!

If I had a bit more disposable income (or played paying gigs more regularly), I would happily keep this amp as a spare/backup. But I really need a bit more mid-range control and can't afford to own two amps... :(

I suspect I would miss this amp though... <_<

It's bizarre, definitely in my top five bass amps I've ever played because it sounds so good, is so simple and bulletproof. I made a friend buy one last year to replace his aging Laney combo and he's incredibly happy with it. Hope it shifts soon for you :)

Auditioning a new drummer on wednesday, so I might have use for a new (to me!) amp after all :)

No Hartke love around in the New Year? I know I'm asking a good price, so why does nobody want one of these budget powerhouses at the moment? Nearly 800 views and no offers? :(

As these amps are now available brand new from GAK for the princely sum of £233 :o I have now reduced my selling price. Although GAK aren't including a rack unit or bag... ;)

It's a tough world at the moment! :(
