ebenezer
Had a problem with a small crack on the neck plate of my circa (2000) ernie ball stingray....got in touch with strings and things, (Andy Cocklin) and he could not have been more helpful...I sent them the neck plate and they sent me a nice shiny new one..(result) Great to think, some businesses still care....Thank you strings and things!! Marc S
That's great news! Indeed, there are still plenty of people out there who do care .... and this is a nice example
sammybee
I had a very similar experience with the same issue. Full marks to Strings and Things - they replaced the neck plate and I didn't even have to send the old one back (just sent them a photo of the cracked one). 11/10 for customer service. Ernie Ball in the US were very very helpful too. Maybe they have a lot of cracked neck plates go back ?
Subbeh
Seen a few posts from people with the same issue on talk bass recently, and on some fairly recent basses too, good to see they're happy to put it right.
rungles
So are the replacements stamped with the same serial number? Nice to hear that companies care - especially awesome ones
stingrayPete1977
I better check my neck plates! Where do they crack? S and T always been good for me, a genuine mm pickguard is about half the price of a copy off ebay too!
sammybee
Mine cracked around the top right bolt hole. I guess it was just over tightened at some point. They dont actually give you the same serial number, but they update the 'database' with the new serial (ie. map it back to the original bass) so a new potential owner can check the provenance. chrismuzz
That's really cool, might seem like a small thing but it makes a big difference
