xilddx Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 There's some holes in his thinking and application, but it's f***ing cool. It's the closest I've found to a simple explanation to unlocking the fretboard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4SMuD5hATQ Quote
Geek99 Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Just listened for two minutes or so; will listen more in my break but it seems pretty good. Certainly possible to apply it to bass as well as The Dark Side Quote
Number6 Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I subscribe to this guy on Youtube and all his vids are really easy to follow and informative. Goods stuff 👍 Quote
Sonic_Groove Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Not exactly John McLaughlin is he!! How to play solo's without thinking? Practice, Practice, Practice B Quote
Geek99 Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 in my very humble opinion, anything that gets people playing and sounding even vaguely good is worthwhile. Yes, knowing your scales is important for understanding why something works, but it can come along second; confidence and enjoyment should come along first; otherwise learners lose heart very quickly. Number6 Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I think that most players practice.....but the correct practice does not come naturally to everyone, therefore rudimentary videos such as this as very useful. Quote
