spongebob
Saw the Haynes Fender bass manual on Amazon. Quite pricey at £16, but looks quite informative for set up and repair. Might work for a learning novice like me? Anyone read or use the book?

Roger2611
If nothing else it's an excellent read, if you are into a bit of Fender bass DIY it's invaluable
Jimryan
I've got a copy and think it's brilliant. Very helpful to have.
Thunderbird
Yep I have a copy brilliant book even if you know what you are doing it is a good read and the conversions from Imperial to Metric are helpful

casapete
I got this when it first came out. Quite a reasonable read, although I just thought that the 'Specific case studies' section was overly repetitive and boring to be honest. Handy for people new to the Fender bass, but perhaps not for those who already have any more than a basic working knowledge of them. pfretrock
Ditto to all that. I never did find a spray can top to keep the screws safe, despite being repeatedly told to do so Some neck width measurements in the case studies would help. Geek99
You can buy a magnetic tin which is better I use it a lot but I helpfully the neck relief section is not near the action section. But that's my only criticism

miles'tone
The father of the drummer from my last band wrote it. Every time I see him he says he has a copy of it for me at home and he'll pop it round. He's been saying that for about 4 years now!

yorks5stringer
I heard the early copies were much lighter than the ones now but it is quite good for metal. (There, my work on this planet is almost done.....)
