Chris Horton
I am after your thoughts please. I am after a small portable foldback monitor for backing vocals. I am currently looking at the tc helicon voicesolo fx150. Do any bass chat members use them in their bands ?
gary mac
I looked at them a while back but haven't actually taken the plunge yet. There was a stand mounted one (not a Helicon though) for sale a few weeks back on here, think it was OBBM selling it. Might be worth checking out. deepbass5
I use three of these about £235 but + is you can use them as a PA and for rehearsals they are 12 " and 350 W [attachment=179713:Alto back.jpg] [attachment=179714:Alto front.jpg] Edited January 1, 2015 by deepbass5
JTUK
We've used the Mackie version of these; Behringer Eurolive B205D Active 150W PA/Monitor but I suspect they are one and the same.. And if they are... they do a good job for Vox only in quite loud situations.
BobVbass
Same as JTUK - We use SRM 150's - really excellent
Phil Starr
I use the B205 and it does the job. A friend uses the TC helicon and I have to say I wish i'd gone for that, lots of voice processing, i think a better sound and mounts onto the stand better. I think the Mackie is pretty similar to the Behringer, I've tried it in the shops but not gigged with it. If you want a used Behringer and can meet up in Exeter I suppose i could upgrade to the TC. PM me if you are interested. Either way the great thing about all these is you can give yourself as much monitor as you want without throwing the monitor mix out for the rest of the band, I've never heard myself so clearly
randythoades
Another vote for the Mackie Srm 150. We use them and as said above, really good for setting your own monitor level rather than having to do the volume that the guitarist needs. Great sound quality. We also use them at ad hoc rehearsals as the PA (and my children's parties)...
natjag
I've used powered and unpowered but completely different brands etc. Powered you just have to consider an extra power cable as well as signal lead.
