Nah, don't do that.
I am sure the OP might appreciate (along with other Basschatters)
a wide selection and differing opinions of what Jazz/Funk is, sounds like.
Music ain't it? On a Musicians site.
Otherwise I wouldn't have got to hear that Fred Wesley track you posted.

Agreed. It's far better to get loads of examples. It's how you find out stuff you haven't heard before.

This is Jazz/funk:

Herbie Hancock Headhunters 1974:

Paul Jackson on bass. Groove personified.

This is the truth about Jazz and Funk and where the two genres meet.

Some truly cringe-worthy album sleeves here... but cool music - whatever genre you decide to put it in!

They are recording their last album We Like It Here - hence headphone monitoring - v impressive as it's 100% live and it's the take that's on the album

The Jon Cleary vids are great - I love this about him:

Jon Cleary is a funk and R&B musician based in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was originally from Cranbrook in Kent, England, and has studied for the past 20 years the "musical culture and life of New Orleans," according to his website. Wikipedia

He's playing at the Barbican with John Scofield next April

Should be a great gig
