The BB425X is a passive five-string PJ bass. The two control pots are master volume and tone. There is a three-position switch to choose which pickup: neck, both, or bridge. You can string either through the body or through the bridge. Currently strung through the bridge with Rotosound Swing Bass 45-130 roundwounds. This bass was purchased new in March, 2013. It is in very good condition: see photos, below. The bathroom scales weight is 4.7kg (10lb 6oz). Truckstop Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 These are terrific basses. I've used a 424x for the last 18 months and have no GAS whatsoever. I haven't owned a 425 but I have played one a few times and I find the B absolutely fine. Not mindblowing but definitely good enough and punches well above it's price point! The new Yamaha BBs are, in my opinion, the best passive basses money can buy. GLWTS! Truckstop
