goblin
I want to fit a hipshot to the E string of my 5 string SSII, has anyone any experience of doing this. I've heard mixed opinion on the matter. Some have no issues, and some say that there isn't enough space for the mechanism to work. Cheers, Goblin
Kev
I cannot see there being enough space on the E, its quite a small headstock. You may get it to fit by angling it differently, but of course it would look a little out of place and would require a new screw hole. Probably isn't worth it, but on the plus side if you can grab one second hand you will likely sell it rather easily if it doesn't fit
goblin
Yeah that's what I thought Apparently it may be possible to "modify" the bit that you flip to clear the B tuner, but I'd have to get one and try it. Normally I'd say I'm not too arsed about the aesthetics... but Kev knows the bass, he'll agree why this time I would be
Cameronj279
Would like to do this myself having recently went back to using Warwick basses so subscribed to this thread! I do imagine it wouldn't have enough space without flipping it to a weird (and probably extremely irritating angle). Still wouldn't mind one for the low B though!
