Stance Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 (edited) Hello I bought this a while ago with the intention of restoring it to its glory, but I lack the time, so I decided to put it up for sale. 1964/1965 Hofner Violin Bass The bass is completely original with original frets with very litle fretwear, but the bridge and the top of the knobs are missing. The neck was incorrectly glued, leaving a gap and lots of glue around that area. I ´ve tried to wiggle it but it seems solid, but in my opinion (and since the neck wasn´t that well aligned when it was glued, I believe it´s best to take it out and do it all again - properly!) As to the truss-rod, never used it so I don´t know how it will react once the neck is properly glued and strings are placed and tuned. There are also some tiny gaps in some places on the top and back, were the wood meets the binding. The electronics are all original, but the pickups are almost dead (the one on the neck has no sound, and the one on the bridge gives very low output). Very stiff knobs probably from lack of use, but they turn. Original tuners/logo I´ve tried to capture all of these details the best I could, but feel free to make any questions or ask for more pics - soon I will also add pics of the pots/controls.
