OutToPlayJazz
LOL! Martin is quite correct - I paid £1000 for an 18 year old one earlier in the year! At least the SII models are pretty well depreciation proof. I think the KingBass will be the same for years to come, too.

He has collected many more Statii and has honed them down to these eight and they are very beautiful. I think Mr Moo likes motorbikes too, Italian ones, I think. As mentioned in the thread I've worked bloody hard in my life and I love these basses... Actually I love a few makes BUT Status has a very special place in my heart. So I have the older ones as objet d'art that I can enjoy looking at and the newer ones to play. There are stories behind a couple of them... The Series 2000 is very special to me as I bought it while I was on leave from The Marines back in 1986... My first proper bass. I had to sell it a couple of years later BUT was lucky enough to find it and get it back a couple of years ago. The FPPR I played in a shop in 1988 and was about to buy when I was sent off to do something for Her Majesty!!! So it was nice to be able to get that recently! OutToPlayJazz
Hey, if Nick, Matt & I shared a house, we'd have the biggest collection of Status basses on the planet! Edit: Then again, there is that huge rack of the things in Rob Green's workshop - Now, if I had a crane........ Edited September 2, 2008 by OutToPlayJazz
doctor_of_the_bass
Hehe! If you need a crane Rich, get in touch with my Dad - he owns this company: http://www.peterboroughcranehire.co.uk I'm very proud of him - and he's a guitar player (my reason for getting into music) - he's got the biggest erections in town! (the 300 tonne crane!). N
doctor_of_the_bass
..hey, we could have a bass commune.... "..living in the country on a bag of rice" - anyone remember that tune from BA Robertson - my mate Alan Jones played bass on it! Of course, everyone would be equal....then again, some would be more equal than others!!!

doctor_of_the_bass
Too much gear son, far too much! Technically, I've got 57 basses, (soon to be 55 as two are being sold), and 13 guitars, 3 practice amps, two bass combos, a head and two cabs, two sets of bass pedals (keyboard synths) etc etc etc
