OutToPlayJazz
I was only saying to my Status-owning friend in Canada a short while ago, that Streamlines seemed quite rare for their first year of production (from early 2008), but now they're getting seriously popular! Can't wait to get my new one on Saturday

steve-soar
A Status bass is always singing, the player has to orchestrate what goes into the amp.

Don't care that it looks strange, I've already christened it 'Ned' (after the Ned Flanders quote 'feels like I'm wearing nothing at all'). OutToPlayJazz
Mart, really glad you like it mate. It really is a "10 minute" bass... You just seem to mould with it. And that sound...! Nice bass, Barney! Here's my new one, picked up tonight from Macko1968, stunning and only one month old... Here are Mick's original pics... BassBus
Nice bass Rich. You've been having quite a turnover of instruments recently.

White LEDs are so darned classy
OutToPlayJazz
Just a bit of a change, BB... Sold my old SII because it was such a shame to have it sitting, then saw this one & decided to make an offer to Mart who'd been looking at Streamlines for a while. That way, Mart got a very reasonably priced Streamline & I got a nice new one with the white LED's As for the LED's, the side ones are nice & subtle, but the fronts are like a quartet of trucks about to run you over! BassBus
Haven't they come out well. Myrtle looks just gorgeous. I'm picking up a new addition tomorrow. A nearly Status.
mathewsanchez
Some lovely shots there of some lovely basses Rich. How much does the custom wood fingerboard cost as an extra?
OutToPlayJazz
I don't know the exact cost of a phenowood fingerboard, but I know it's not a cheap option! I'd say around £2-300. I know Rob's run out of the phenowood for the time being and is looking for another supplier. Would you believe that it's not wood at all? It looks and feels like wood, but is in fact a curious mix of the graphite binding resin & paper!
mathewsanchez
So is this one off the site Maple as it says or the mysterious Phenowood? If I do order a Status new it will pretty much be exactly like that.
OutToPlayJazz
Call Dawn at Status on 01206 868150 to be sure. I'm not going to confirm either way, but I suspect all the 'wooden' boards are phenowood. Don't quote me on it! Rich.
OutToPlayJazz
A couple of extra shots I took yesterday... D4Dve lives a couple of miles up the road from me & I've had his newly acquired S2 5-string in for restringing & setup amongst a few other bits. He's picking it up today, but here it is in the flesh, as it were
BassBus
Just picked up Will 2x18's Washburn Series 1000. Dead chuffed. Apart from a few dings on the front which I can live with it is lovely. Sounds great too. I think I'll add chrome knobs to it which should look good against the black. Some pics attached with Miss Maple.
