thinman Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Nothing to do with basses or amps. I've got one of those oil-effect lights for the band lighting that has some coloured oils sandwiched between two glass plates driven by a motor. Over the years the colours have faded and the whole thing's a bit anaemic-looking now. I can't seem to find any replacement discs but wondered if there are any ways to bring it back to life. Any ideas what kind of oils and dyes are used? Quote
ikay Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Not sure what sort of projector your using but this site sells 6" and 3" oil wheels - http://www.optifanatics.com/Browse.aspx?id=22 Quote
icastle Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 I used to work for the company that (probably) made your projector. I believe they still manufacture the same wheels, although the projectors themselves have had a bit of a facelift in the intervening years. http://www.optikinetics.co.uk/index.php/category/effect-wheels-cassettes-gobos/catalogue/optikinetics Quote
thinman Posted December 24, 2014 Author Posted December 24, 2014 Thanks chaps. My projector appears to be made by "Zoom Manufacturing" which doesn't appear to exist as a specific company on the internet. The wheel is about 4.5" so I doubt those on the sites name would fit. May have to ditch it... Quote
