True but due to a massive career he has still used one for what would otherwise be a lifetimes work for some bands.

Everyone goes on about the stripped P basses yet to my mind I always think of him with the red 80s looking one with the covered pole pieces?

I once, when I was young and daft, had a Kramer bass like John deacon had used.... The one with the aluminium neck and forked head stock.....
Was a fecker to keep in tune in a warm club....

Im not sure many basses will reach the dizzy values that guitars can reach anyway, for the most part us bassists are not so well known?

(insert arguement about Macca fidle bass and the original being stolen anyway and repeat)
