Probably a common problem with these amps but has anybody else had unacceptable levels of hiss?
It's not too bad with the treble turned down and pretty good on a passive bass but with even a smidgen of treble from my preamp (aguilar 18v) it dominates the sound.

It's already been back to giggear twice, once for a dodgy output and the other because it kept cutting out. I haven't used it in ages because i don't really need it and don't trust it enough to gig with (in fact i don't trust it at all!), just a shame because it's a handy and cheap little amp.

Apologies if this has been covered to death (links anyone? i'm new on here!), but could someone point me in the right direction? What are ashdown like for servicing these amps (for free like).

Cheers guys

I had the exact same problem, a quick search reveals this:

Should answer your questions.

Cheers i'll try it at a more neighbour friendly hour!
Some research on the internet reveals that switching from speakon to jack output (or vice/versa) cures the problem, also switching output channels (something i've already had problems with).
Cheers!
