timmo Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Yeah, sad news. A fair few from Woodstock have gone now Quote

Allie Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 RIP Joe - thanks for all the fantastic music! Quote
Count Bassy Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Sad news indeed - I wasn't expecting this. Probably my second favourite rock voice. RIP. Quote
blue Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 There are a lot of great artists out there. However there's a very special something called "It" and you have to have to make it big. Joe Cocker defined what having "It" meant. I remember his historical performance at Woodstock. Amazing! RIP JC Quote
Chezz55 Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 An influential and unique singer backed by the the stunning Grease Band. .Joe Cocker's perfomance of 'With A Little Help From my friends' at Woodstock was and is sublime. I saw the movie at The Empire Leicester Square, and the cinema audience stood up and applauded Cocker's performance. Thanks for some great music Joe, wherever you go from here - go carefully. KevB Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Inevitably, with such a unique voice, not to everyone's taste but I always liked him. One of a kind, RIP JC. Quote
Bass_Guardian Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Love his music. Sad to see another legend go Quote
UglyDog Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 Just made the mistake of listening to 'You Are So Beautiful' -- it has always put a huge lump in my throat, but the added poignancy means that the tears are flowing freely this time. Thank god the office is nearly empty! Quote
billfaro Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Well another legend has left us. Great singer. Sheffield will be in mourning now. RIP Joe Cocker. Lost quite a few this year. http://www.ranker.com/list/dead-musicians-2014-famous-musician-deaths/ranker-death-lists Quote
seashell Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 They played 'Delta Lady' on Radio 2 this morning. I'd forgotten what a great song that was and how brilliantly he sang it. IIRC Leon Russell wrote it about Rita Coolidge and Joe Cocker was also a lifelong friend of hers. Quote
