bubinga5 Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 (edited) Im sure lots have seen this. but for those who haven't, its a fascinating look at a 40 year master of guitar making. its quite staggering how much detail he goes into, and how much knowledge he has, explaining the different aspects of his building process is really interesting. Ive owned a Sadowsky and it was fantastic. wish i hadn't of let it go. i think a few of his views are not gospel, because different luthiers have different opinions i guess. its a long one but very interesting. leroydiamond Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 A nice documentary. I have a Sadowsky NYC J bass. A lovely instrument but really expensive on this side of the pond due to duty and taxes. They represent excellent value second hand though. Quote
Martin E Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Thanks for posting. I could listen to him talking all day. A wealth of experience and common sense plus he seems a nice guy. Quote
Hector Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 No chance I'm watching this or I'll get Sadowsky GAS! Quote
molan Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 We've got Roger coming over to help man the BassGear stand at LBGS next year - really, really excited about this! Quote

Roger seems like a lovely guy though. I've got a huge respect for what he's achieved with a, relatively, single minded vision of how an instrument should be made and what it should sound like Quote
ezbass Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 I watched this the other day, it's just wonderful to listen to a guy who has passion about his subject. I particularly liked the part where he talks about archtops and the raison d'être behind his construction. This video, coupled with the one with RS and Michael Tobias, has been time thoroughly well spent and, amazingly, non GAS forming. Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I found it interesting, especially his view on the scoop of his e q which seems to be the polar opposite of most of the received wisdom on here about getting heard "in the mix" Quote
Toasted Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Boost your mids mate - I read it on the internet. Quote
