State of the art production and the best arrangers, producers and technicians. Blue
EssentialTension
I think something that may have been different in the 1960s was that the old executives of the record companies did not pretend to know much of anything about the 'new' music and people got signed and given something of a free hand especially if they managed to sell even a few copies. By the 1970s, and ever since, the newer generation of executives thought they knew the new music and interfered accordingly. This is only meant as wild generalisation and not a fully sourced historical analysis that I wish to defend. I did once hear Zappa in an interview saying something similar. Here, to compare and contrast, are three other Ed Sullivan show extracts from the same period. The Rolling Stones had better production, arrangements and technique than these..? Wow..! Bassman Steve
It's strange how we have different tastes but I cannot abide the Stones and even switch off the radio when they come on.
