mickcope
i want to do some basic home recording using a macbook pro and garage band. Any suggestions please on a basic A to D unit that will work without any fuss with a mac for recording the acoustic instruments - ta Mick
Woodinblack
Depends how many channels you need. I have an Alesis IO/2 which i got off ebay for £20 that works pretty damn well for two channel IO (XLR input and phantom power).
SpikeBass
The Alesis are great units as stated above. If you need more channels then I went with an M-Audio 26/26 it has never let me down (yet) and gives you 8/8 from the unit with facility to connect a further 2 units to give you 24/24.
