wishface Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 What is the correct fingering or way to play this part of the Teen Town riff, which i've been trying to learn. It's the part early on that starts on the 1st fret E string (F) and moves to A flat then A in some weird chromatic bluesy thing. Not really sure how else to describe the part, but the lick goes to the A string and plays C to D to F (on the D string) and then A again. That's the hard part, a string crossing thing back down to the E, unless you can use the open A, which i can't quite pull off. Quote
kroogie Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 This works for me because when you use the open A you can rake down and move your hand up one position to get to the notes starting at the fifth fret on the D string: --------------------------5-7-8-9------------ ---------------3---5-6-7-----------9-7-9-0-0 -------3-5-3---0----------------------------- 1-4-5----------------------------------------- Quote
lonestar Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Search Scott Devines excellent lesson breaking this down. It's hard but very good. Quote
