Please note: To save searching through the thread I've collected the links together supplied and posted them together. Start at the end and work your way back to it and you will see them all.

I thought that I'd set up this thread after a suggestion by a fellow Basschatter. I was having a "wee moan" about privacy issues on Facebook and (being impatient) also mentioned how it is getting increasingly difficult to promote our band page and to get likes. In response I got 10 page likes within 24 hours-It may not sound a lot but was much appreciated and cheered me up no end,

For new or originals bands having a FB band page is a useful signpost, for your audience, promoters and festival organisers so having a decent amount of "Page Likes" is a good thing.

The idea is simple "follow the link and like the band page" and hopefully get a like back or if you may wish leave a link on this thread for others to like your page. Unless you really don't like them of course :)

Anyway here's my page so lets see if it works?

Note: You may find some great new bands in the process-only one way to find out.

All in this thread liked so far!

This is my lot, not much in the way of media but we will be worth following purely for comedy value..

My function band - the page is pretty sparse at the moment but we are working on it! Relatively new, lots of gigs booked for 2015 and always get great feedback - but find it hard to build following like my orignals band has.

Would love to get closer to the 100 mark!

Much appreciated. Cheers guys.

Edit, all of the above liked! ☺

I can't help but feel that you should be getting "likes" based on the merits of your music, and not through blunt exhortation.

For sure, it's a great idea to promote your band on these forums, I just think that people should perhaps be a little more scrupulous, and only "like" what they actually, well, like...

EDIT: I've been asked to delete my posts to avoid derailing the the thread. I have deleted the other post I made, but I would like to leave this one preserved for posterity. If a moderator asks me to remove it I will.
This wasn't supposed to be inflammatory, and I apologise.

Fair enough, but nothing like a bit of reciprocal hype for each other's bands, giving each other a stronger case with venues, promoters etc.

Nah, it's just a marketing exercise for fellow bassist's on a forum, I'm enjoying looking at all the cool bands we are all in to be honest.

The promoters are going to love it when they book you based on your FB likes, and no-one shows up at the gig.
I think your way ahead of the game, I don't think Facebook likes are the be all and end all.

If people don't like the shouldn't like.. Have a listen though there are some interesting results. If people want to like it-much appreciated...hey its Christmas!

well it was yesterday :)

Not to sure about the back drop. I first read as The band cold then looked closer and saw the band name in the proper order.

'LIKED' several of these pages... its always good to support fellows members! Its also good to watch some of your youtube clips and see what you play on your fb page :)
Yeah, definitely. Although, just realised, the only video clip on our page is of a Fontela Bass number - which we havent played for a few gigs now... might have to bring it back!!

I felt sure this thread existed already... but can't find it... So maybe not.

I'll listen through the bands above and like those I dig.

FOLKS, can we keep to the topic, namely the egocentric amongst us getting some more likes on our Faecesbook page.
If you want to argue the toss about rights and wrongs please set up your own topic?

Would be REALLY nice if those not on this topic for the purpose it was set up, WOULD SELECT their delete buttons.
Plenty of room for rights and wrongs elsewhere thank you :)

I'll go through the above today and do some 'likes'
I already have a few of the Nottingham ones on my FB such as Wrists and T5E

We play a kind of 'urban reggae' which hopefully you'll dig:
