Annoying Twit
I read some reports of people buying fake instruments, including some of those posted by 'Chinese Guitar Sceptic'. I can't really see the advantage of buying the fakes, when cheap but well made guitars seem every bit as good.
spacey
Saw a fake Rick in a shop they were trying to fix, over 4 weeks the action went from playable to keep your laptop under the strings. The rod nut was sinking in to the neck every time it got turned. The verdict was, £300 of scrap.
Delberthot
Well they don't call them Parcel Farce for nothing. Bunch of rank amateurs tried to deliver the bass to my work again. Luckily they left it at the local post office and I'm only two minutes along the road from where I work. First impressions are that It's a good, solid bass but I'll have to spend some time giving it a good setup. The B is a bit floppy but overall the string gauge seems a lot lighter than I am used to - somewhere along the lines of light like Rickenbacker stock strings. The neck is quite slim and that's coming from a thin C jazz neck on the precision. Quite shallow and not overly wide. I'll do a proper review once I've had a chance to set it up properly
